Beijing Underground Bomb Shelter in Ruins

The legendary Beijing underground city is now in ruins. The underground city was built as a haven against an attack by Russians during the nuclear war, but years after the construction, the tunnels are cold and wrecked.

The place looks ancient with remains of walls that have been destroyed and broken up stuff filling the complex system of tunnels in which you can easily get lost. The tunnels are dark with some dimly lit fitted bulbs spaced out along the roof of the tunnels. The floor is filled with piles of brick debris and at some point; the tunnel is flooded with filthy water.

Despite its devastating condition, there are some signs of dwellers in the old bomb shelter. You can see some clothes on the lines, and some cubicles with flanked doors; inside there some households thrown about, while in the wall hangs some faded portraits.
