Zlatoust City which is located in Chelyabinsk Region in Russia contains a few of abandoned industrial facilities which look like great model for creating a map for Call of Duty 2 game. The value of this facility is becoming higher and higher every day, as it becomes older, because it contains numerous evidences about the history of Russia.

Steam locomotives were unavoidable in industrial cities and they are present even today in some places in Russia. Here you can see a few of abandoned locomotives which once were the proud of Soviet regime but today they are just a bunch of rust which no one wants.

Cold weather and lot of snow and ice is very nice opportunity for ice-sculptors to create some interesting sculptures. Creating Ice Age characters from ice sounds like pretty good idea.

You are watching at photos from an event which was held this winter in Moscow where a lot of ice-sculptors attended and made some wonderful sculptures of Ice Age characters. This has became pretty popular amongst Russians who liked the idea. The most interesting part for me personaly are aquariums made from ice which are pretty realistic and unusually colorful.

There is a lot of people out there who are talking about bad influence of radio and Wi-Fi waves on brain. There is also a few of extreme groups who even wear foil hat everywhere. Furthermore, I was always wondering why Morpheus from ‘The Matrix’ movie puts his hat before the ignition of the EMP? I would say that there is a little bit true in those theories about defective waves and similar but it is probably not so big deal so you have to wear foil hat.

But, having an foil hut could be considerable option, so, you can sleep in peace. Here you are watching an impressive foil hut which is not only effective but also luxury. I don’t want to talk about the level of the parody that is present in the mind of the creator of this hut but I can responsibly claim that he has some taste for interior designs

The rockface in the pictures is called Cal Orko by the locals and was discovered recently in 1994, stretching 1.5 km. in length. It is the largest and the most important tracksite but is under constant danger of crumpling. Although $30 millions is being spent on protecting the site that goes upto 150 meters high, by the Bolivian authorities, a part of it crumpled this February destroying about 300 tracks.

These two rings actually fit into each other and make a meaningful gift. Done using the method of sand casting, they are available in different sizes. Make sure you get the ring sizes right when you place an order. The band that forms the ring is made of sterling to which the lego pieces are soldered. In the picture, the rings were given a coat of black platina and then brushed to get the desired look.

Some meters away before you get to the bottom of the cave, you see a river underneath, with trees and leaves floating on some liquid level. However it may seem like a river, it’s not a real river. It’s just a layer of hydrogen sulphide beneath. All in all, it looks startling and unforgettable when you get there and see it with your own eyes.

According to Anatoly Beloshchin, a professional photographer, the underwater scenery is amazing. He describes, “We are 30 meters deep, fresh water, then 60 meters deep – salty water and under me I see a river, island and fallen leaves… Actually, the river, which you can see, is a layer of hydrogen sulphide.”

On your way down you can see spectacular layers of rocks formed during the last ice age. However, as a visitor, cave and cavern divers, you need to learn to be safe and careful. You got to become part of this unique and stunning cave setting to appreciate these amazing archaeological discoveries.

Elephant  Rides

Elephants, the largest land animals in the world, inspire a feeling of awe and respect in most people. Weighing up to 6 tons (11 000lb) and reaching speeds of up to 40km/hr, this giant of the animal kingdom has an impressive presence. Elephants are extremely agile for their size. They can walk along narrow paths through a jungle and climb steep hills without loosing their balance. A ride on elephant will provide memories that last a lifetime. The elephants are prepared with a comfortable saddle  so all you have to do is hold on and enjoy the ride. One of the places where you can have this ride is Chiang Mai, Thailand. Chiang Mai is in the northern, mountainous part of the country, and elephants have been working here for centuries. Lately, more elephants are working as trekkers instead of logging help due to tourist demand. Being surrounded by these enormous animals and moving along with them is a truly wonderful experience. Being immersed so deeply in nature and interacting with such powerful creatures is deeply rewarding and satisfying and is an opportunity that should not be missed.

Camel Ride

While camels are are widely acknowledged efficient pack animals. Their long strides and strong humps make a camel ride a fast and fun experience. A good portion of them are used for labor and transportation, but a fair share are used in eco-tourism and soft adventure tours, mostly in the Middle East. The problem with camels, besides their disposition, their body odor and tendency to expectorate unexpectedly, is the way they walk. Camels, on the other hand, lift both front and back hooves of the left side, then front and back of the right side. This creates a very powerful swaying motion from right to left. Considering that most camels are about 6.5 feet (2 meters) tall, and the passenger sits on top of the hump, which is another 12 inches (30 cm) upward, that’s a lot of motion high in the sky. If you really want to ride camel, high chances for this are in Egypt. Camels are relatively emotional and intelligent animals and respond best to familiar handlers. Be sure to ride a domesticated camel under the supervision of someone who knows how to control the animal.

Ostrich Rides

If you’re ever in South Africa and would like to do something different, try riding an ostrich. It can be a fun and exciting activity, assuming you’re up for the challenge. Ostriches are the tallest living birds on the planet. The Ostrich is a large, flightless bird – the largest living bird on earth. When fully grown it weighs over 120kg pounds. Ostrich have long necks, small heads, large eyes, long, powerful legs, and two toes on each foot. Ostriches have great vision and because of their strong legs can run at 70 km per hour. Ostriches are inquisitive birds that will peck anyone or anything. You will certainly feel the peck but it doesn’t hurt. But, be cautioned, beware of their claws! They kick forward, not backward, and their claws are sharp enough to inflict wounds. Especially the males who become aggressive as they get older.

Dog Sledding

Sled dogs, known also as sleightman dogs, sledge dogs, or sleddogs are types of dogs that are used to pull a wheel-less vehicle on runners (a sled or sleigh) over snow or ice, by means of harnesses and lines. Several distinct dog breeds are in common use as sled dogs, although any medium-sized breed may be used to pull a sled. Purebred sled dog breeds range from the well-known Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute to rarer breeds such as the Mackenzie River Husky or the Canadian Eskimo Dog (Canadian Inuit Dog). Dog drivers, however, have a long history of using other breeds or crossbreds as sled dogs. In the days of the Gold Rush in The Yukon, mongrel teams were the rule, but there were also teams of Foxhounds and Staghounds.  If you want a ride like this, go to Bern, Switzerland.

Ox-Cart Rides

For those who love old ethnic traditional way of transportation, can drive in an Ox- cart. This will give you an experience of the unique mode of transport. Ox Carts, Carretas, are the true traditions. They’re not great on the freeway, but for short stretches, riding an ox-cart is a great experience. It will take you through Nepal’s rugged, rural terrain, but also on a trip back in time.

The Screaming Tunnel, Warner Road

A local legend recounts that the tunnel is haunted by the ghost of a young girl, who after escaping a nearby burning farm building with her clothing ablaze, died within its walls. Several variants of the legend exist locally, one version has the girl set on fire by her enraged father after he loses custody of his children after a nasty divorce. Another tells of a young girl being raped inside the tunnel and her body burned to prevent any evidence from being found.  All variants involve a claim that a match struck within the tunnel’s recesses will produce the sound of the young girl’s dying screams, this purported phenomena is alleged to be the origin of the tunnel’s name.

Bessie Little Bridge,  Dayton

The ghost of a murdered girl named Bessie Little returns regularly to this bridge on Ridge Street. She was murdered there on August 27, 1896, by her boyfriend, Albert J. Frantz. Bessie was pregnant and Albert didn’t want to have to marry her, so he shot her in the head and arranged the scene to suggest a suicide. For some reason, however, he shot her twice, so it was obvious that she hadn’t done it to herself. On November 19, 1897, Albert J. Frantz #28896 was strapped into the electric chair at the Ohio Penitentiary in Columbus and put to death for first degree murder. Back in Montgomery County, Bessie Little’s ghost continues to haunt the bridge.

Wilson Hall, famous for a girl (a supposed witch)who killed herself moments after writing satanic and supernatural things on the wall in her own blood. The five cemetaries that form a pentagram that surrounds the campus, with the administrative building being in the center of the devil’s sign. Washington Hall, which is famous for housing a team of basketball players who all died in a terrible crashm their ghosts still haunt the hall, and you can sometimes hear them dribbling. The catacombs of Jefferson Hall, where numerous ghost sightings have occurred. And finally, for The Ridges, an abandoned insane asylum that was known for thousands of labotamies and electro shock treatments. Also, a patient who disappeared, and was found five weeks later, her body decomposed onto the floor and left a stain that outlines her body. This stain can still be seen today.

Kelly Road, Ohioville, Pennsylvania

A one-mile section of Kelly Road, Ohioville, Pennsylvania is an area that has had numerous reports of paranormal activity and bizarre happenings. Reports say that when animals have entered this haunted stretch of road they suddenly turn from peaceful and quiet to violent, going after other animals and even people. The road is surrounded by dark, thick and creepy forest where white apparitions and noises that can’t be explained have been seen and heard. No one is quite sure why this short section of road is haunted but theories suggest that is could be somehow connected to cult activity that was once taking place in the area and curses that have been put on the land for some reason.

Alcatraz Prison, San Francisco

The island, believed to be an evil place by Native Americans, has seen centuries of death from accidents, murders, and suicides. With this dark history, it’s no wonder Alcatraz is said to be one of the most haunted places in the nation. If ghosts return to haunt the places where they suffered traumatic experiences when they were alive, then Alcatraz must be bursting at the seams with spirits. For years there have been reports of mysterious happenings on Alcatraz Island. These reports come from visitors, former guards, former prisoners, and national park service employees. From the original lighthouse reappearing on occasion to clanging, screaming, and sobbing, there are too many tales to put into this short article. It would definitely take a book to tell them all. Some of the strange occurences are recounted in the following paragraphs. The Lighthouse – There have been several reports that on foggy nights the old lighthouse, built in 1854 and torn down after it was damaged in the great 1906 San Francisco earthquake, will suddenly appear, accompanied by an eerie whistling sound and a flashing green light that makes its way slowly around the island and then vanishes as suddenly as it appears.

Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh, Scotland

This magnificent castle is typically medieval, perched atop a rocky crag, giving it an amazing vista of  Scottish hills. But inside the empty halls and narrow streets of Edinburgh, there are the echoes of the dead. At least, that’s what has been reported. Hot spots for specters include the castle’s prison cells, the South Bridge vaults and Mary’s King Close, a disused street used to quarantine and eventually entomb victims of the plague. There are also reports of ghost dogs, a headless drummer, and the bodies of prisoners taken during the French seven-year war and the American War of Independence.

This astonishing picture taken by specialist aerial photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand shows flamingos on Lake Nakuru in Kenya’s Rift Valley, where up to 1.5 million have been seen at a time.

Widely regarded as the greatest bird spectacle on earth, the myriad flamingos gather there to feed on the abundant blue-green algae which thrive in the warm alkaline waters, with their high soda content caused by intense evaporation in the burning African sun.

Scientists believe that the vast flamingo population at Nakuru can consume as much as 500 tons of algae every day.

They feed with their long necks bent down and their bills upside down in the water, using their tongues to pump in and out to suck in the salty, alkaline water and mud.

Filters in the bill catch the microscopic algae floating in the water, as well as the small shrimps which give them their pink colour.

Fortunately, given the brackish water, flamingos have a poor sense of taste and no sense of smell.

There are two types of flamingo species on the lake: the Lesser flamingo, distinguished by its deep red carmine bill and pink plumage, and the Greater, which has a bill with a black tip.

Conservationists are increasingly concerned that pollution from local industries is causing the flamingo population at Lake Nakuru – a protected area – to fall.

Arthus-Bertrand has travelled the world photographing flamingos – and has captured their elegance in flight with this astonishing picture (right) taken in the Saharan oasis of Ouargla, eastern Algeria.

But for sheer breathtaking spectacle, nowhere can match the flamingos of Kenya’s Rift Valley.
