It is hardly to believe that Russia has its own Indian tribes but that fact is true. There is a population of about 1500 people who are originally Indians who live in Kamchatka peninsula. They are some kind of mix between Indians and Eskimos. They are called Itelmens. Some scientific studies have revealed that Itelmens are related to a Tlingit tribe in Alaska and they also have some common customs and tradition.
Itelmens are not only indigenous tribe which lives in Russia but they are considered as most authentic one. Their community of about 1500 people is better educated than the other indigenous communities but their life still remains pretty primitive. Here you are watching a photos of an exhibition in a Moscow based photo centers which was made in order to improve the knowledge about existence of Indian culture on Russian soil.
